
The scene begin with Sartaji preparing breakfast for her husband, Nimmi is begging her father to take her to a carnival. He says he can’t talk and hurries off to work. They seem like a very well-orientated family. Sarajrti takes her daughter to the carnival. While they are on the Ferris wheel Nimmi points out yelling “papa”. Sartaji looks and sees her husband with a lady and a baby. He and the women look very happy. Saritaji looks stunned and is shocked. The husband notices that Sartaji has seen him. You see Sarataji at home weeping on her bed. Sarataji visits her husband who has been in a car accident. The lady that had the baby dies. Sarataji husband explains that he married Sarataji, because her father was willing to pay him a lot of money. Before he dies, he asks Sarataji to watch the baby as it was her own. Sarataji takes a step back and looks at him shocked thinking why he would ask her such a question. She takes the baby home. There is a scene when the baby cries and the nanny takes care of the baby. While Sartaji tucks her daughter to bed. She shows affection to her daughter, while she ignores her stepdaughter. As Shalu grows, there’s a scene when they are on vacation. Shalu tries to take her stepmother out, and Nimmi quickly grabs her mom and they run outside. Shalu gets angry. She runs to her hotel room, and she quickly messes up the room. Shalu learns to express her feeling through rebelling. They show scenes on how Shalu rebels. She sits on a bench. A puppet is behind her, and talks to the little boy who owned the puppet. Ever since that day Sameer and Shalu have been best friends. Sameer always helped Shalu, when she gets sad about how her stepmother show her and love or affection. The scene goes to morning you’ll see Shalu opening the curtain. The girls are older noe. They are in their twenties. Nimmin works, and Shalu just usually hangs out with Sameer. The last main character is Dev. His father owns Khanna industries. The towns is angry at Sarataji, since she is the mayor. They want her to solve why there so many poor people getting laid off. Shalu is on a mission to help her stepmother solve her problem. Shalu sneaks out of town, and the taxi driver happens to be Dev. Dev duguises himself to see what is exactly going on with Khanna industry. On the way to Mr. Khanna’s home Dev and Shalu fall in love. Mr. Khanna agrees to let all worker work for khanna industry. Dev decides to run Khanna industry. He hires Shalu to work there too. One day Nimmi was walking to work and a truck hits. Luckily, Dev was close by, and pickes her up takes her to the hospital. Nimmi starts to have feelings for Dev. Sartaji notices that Shalu is in love with Dev too. She warns Shalu to step back the families arranges an engagement party. Sarataji arch enemy comes to the engagement party with news. He tells Sarataji to step down or else he will tell everybody her secret. Shalu overhears and comes into the room. He tells shalu Sarataji isn’t he real mother. Her mother died in a car accident. He threatens to everyone if Sarataji doesn’t step down. Shalu runs over to Mr. Khanna; s house and tells him that Sarataji isn’t her real mother, and that he shouldn’t stop the wedding of Dev and Nimmi. One the wedding day, Shalu performs a dance. Nimmi notices the look on Shalu and Dev eyes and how much they love each other. Nimmin stops the wedding and announces Shalu and Dev wedding.
The movie reviews were mixed. Most critics like the movie. The critics that gave a negative review wanted Nimmi to be focused on more. The rating for “Dil Hai Tumahara” is 6 out 10.
